Monday was a full day of school. Tuesday was a dentist appt for the kids at 11:30am. We did Math, AWANA practice, spelling, and science. Wednesday involved bringing a friend to AWANA. Thursday meant another 2.5 hour trip BACK to the dentist to fix Z's filling (it was a little too high and she couldn't eat with it). Friday was co-op all day.
In Grammar, Ay covered nouns, personal pronouns, articles, and added verbs to her sentences. Z covered nouns, articles, and added personal pronouns to her sentences.
In Math, Ay learned how to use a protractor to measure angles. She also practiced converting time (seconds to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to days, and all that in reverse, too). She is also practicing long division and product trees. Z has been practicing multiplication/division fact families, taking giant numbers and making them bigger (lol! 37,456 becomes 3 x 10,000 + 7 x 1,000 + 4 x 100 + 5 x 10 + 6 x 1), and doing some algebraic equations such as n + 5 = (3 x 5) + 8.
In Spelling, Ay has finished Day 39. Z finished Day .
In Science, they read about Polar Regions, Rainforest, Desert, and Grasslands. They finished filling in their habitat charts.
We did one day of History (creating our History Pockets). I think I need to pull in some extra reading for this, though, so that the crafts actually mean something.
The toddler is learning about Sizes. There is Big ones and Tiny ones. She always wants the Big one (whatever it happens to be, lol!) Ay has gotten smart and now asks Georgie if she wants the big one, and then gives her whatever size it is. And Georgie is happy, knowing she got the "big one".
