It was a very, very busy week. I'm hoping next week will have less excitement!
Monday was the Valentine's party. Mailboxes were displayed and valentine cards delivered. It was at a bowling alley, and the kids bowled 1 or 2 games.
Tuesday was our at-home day. Tues & Friday: The 9yo is working through Five Times Five is Not Ten, and has mastered these facts: 0's, 1's, 2's, 3x3, 7x8, 5x5, and 3x4. The 7yo is learning beginning multiplication 0's, 1-5, and 10. In Science, we're reading a rather lengthy picture book called How to Think Like a Scientist, and it is about the Scientific Method. It has taken us 2 weeks to complete 2 chapters (I did say it was lengthy!) The 9yo is continuing Familiar Quotations copywork, and the 7yo is alternating Handwriting Without Tears Cursive & Familiar Quotations throughout the week. We've also been alternating Reading and English for the 7yo. The 9yo is working on finishing her English 3 book. We read-aloud a few chapters of Prince & the Pauper.
Wednesday: dentist for the kids in the a.m., then we went to get an oil change in the truck. We had a few hours of downtime before heading out to AWANA. The 7yo earned her 4th red jewel.
Thursday: we went to a nature center for a class on geology. We took our dog in for grooming. I brought our rock kit to have the teacher help us identify the rocks that we were having trouble with. Then we went to a friend's for a playdate. After that, we picked up our dog from the groomer's and arrived home at 5:30pm. It was a full day.
Friday: Another day of school (see above), then we will be going to a friend's for Homeschool Prince & the Pauper day (even though we only got thru chapter 13 or so). After that, the girls were invited to a movie night at another friend's house. Full day.
