Yowwza, what happened when I planned this week? I just couldn't say "no". Here's the line-up:
Monday: Valentine's Party at the bowling alley. We do this every year. It's a great response to the question, "don't they miss out on making boxes & Valentines at school?" The 9yo's box is a Christian theme:
The 7yo's box is called "The Attic". She's going to be the happy-go-lucky author of tragic love stories someday:) I tried to only assist when they weren't sure how to make their ideas happen. The 7yo designed the trap door where the Val cards go. In the "corners" are spider webs. We also glued everything down with hot glue, which left "spider web strings".
Tuesday: is our one day at home (cue - "Hallelujah Chorus" and bright angelic lights)
Wednesday: kids have dentist appt in the a.m., AWANA at night
Thursday: kids have nature center class at 9:30am and dog has grooming at 10am. It will be an interesting "try to make it on time" sort of day.
Friday: kids have an early afternoon movie to watch with fellow homeschoolers, "Prince & the Pauper" (it is our read-aloud right now for this very purpose), and then friends invited them for a movie night at their house in the evening.
Yesterday (Saturday), my husband took me to a movie for the inaugural "First time baby is left with someone else" day. They did swimmingly. And I got to watch a movie that changed my perception forever! We watched Avatar at the IMAX in 3-D. Wow. Wow. I'll say it again: Wow. Plot was...welll....not all that great. But the 3-D & special effects was amazing! This is how movies will be done in the future.
